Tuesday, November 29th I caught this Coho using a pink marabou jig with a Slimer pink worm leech on the hook. It weighed 10 pounds. I was at the upper Cowlitz River in between the barrier dam and the boat ramp at the salmon hatchery. The run of steelhead is looking pretty strong at the trout hatchery at Blue Creek on the Cowlitz. I was able to see 4 or 5 nice, chrome-bright, 5-7 pound steelhead caught.

Once I changed to the spey rod from my spinning rod outfit, I caught one fish about every four casts. Green colored flies worked best but I caught fish on almost every fly I threw.
The Skokomish is real hot with Chums too and a few Coho here and there. I fished below the Highway 106 bridge on Wednesday 16th and the fishing was excellent. Green yarn and Korkie rigs, also green and white Marabou jigs, which I fished cross current with no bobber, still working great and are probably the best baits to gear fish with in the Skok.
Look for the last runs of fresh Kings on the Humptulips for the next few weeks.

Nisqually River
Fished the Nisqually River on Sunday and there's a bunch of Pinks and Kings in the lower Nisqually. After chatting with several people seems fishing is good at all the regular spots. Anglers are taking fish on roe and sand shrimp or prawn combos. Marabou Jigs are working great, Spoons and Spinners are working good as well. The fish in the picture is a Nisqually Pink Salmon.
WDFW Looking for Public Comments
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is now accepting public comments on digging days, catch limits and other management options for the upcoming razor clam season.
