Burns Fishing Supplies : Coho's at Sekiu, Washington

Here's one of the nice Coho's caught at Sekiu, Washington, on August 20. This a great spot to fish on the Olympic Peninsula. Even though King season is closed there, the Coho are biting very strong right now. On our boat with 3 people over a 2 day period we caught and released about 60-65 fish. Out of those, we caught 12 fish that were hatchery fish. The 2-fish limit of Cohos was easy to get but we had to go through a lot native fish to get our 2 hatchery fish per day limit.

My name is Ryan Hartley, and I have grown up fishing. I remember the first time my dad took me fishing when I was little. He took me to a river that he fished in as a kid. I was so excited catching rainbow trout from the river bank. Ever since then I have been addicted to fishing. I am lucky enough to have 8 lakes within walking distance of my house. Within these 8 lakes I can catch bass, bluegill, catfish, crappie, carp, shad and maybe even some others. I was a camper at the Georgia Trout Camp during the summer of 2013, and then returned as a youth mentor in 2014. I received the "Julie Stalnaker" award for doing good job as a mentor. The award named after a woman who was an active TU member and conservationist in our area. Sadly she passed from cancer. I was honored to receive it.
